How will you follow the Dons Next Season

Strachan your destiny is calling.

The most asked question on Aberdeen message boards at this time is If we get rid of Mcghee who do we get?
No available manger really springs to mind and you have to wonder if Aberdeen could afford compensation to another club.
Today I came home from work to see the headline Strachan resigns from Boro post. It got me wondering will this influence or speed up any decision the Aberdeen board might be pondering about Mark Mcghee's future.
The move to Boro just has not worked out for Strachan who has had a fairly successful managerial career. He did well at Celtic even though for some reason the Celtic fans were glad to see the back of him after he won 2 out of 3 SPL titles.
In the back of my mind though is that we have had 2 Gothenburg greats as manager now and both turned out to be a disaster (Although Willie Miller started off well).
It might be worth the gamble considering there would be no compensation fee for Strachan.
What do you think? Would Strachan be a good choice? If not who would you like to see in the dugout at Pittodrie should Mcghee be shown the door?

  1. I would give Mcgoo a half a season then look at it again, I cant see Strachan coming to us. Not even sure it would be a good move? Maybe we need someone with no previous connection to the club? ....And Jess to help him out. lol or Hartley could be an assistant in the future?
As for now I think we should avoid chopping and changing. If were top six half way through the season then leave him and see how he does the rest of the season, bottom six and it might be time to think again.

  2. It just worry,s me Jim that we are on the sort of run that lasted most of the season after January last year and we are only into October. Leaving it till January or February could mean us being well bogged down in the relegation battle.

  3. He's done a few questionable things recently as manager but has had a bit of bad luck with injuries too, I would be willing for all he has done for the club as a player to give him the benefit of the doubt till mid season, then it would be twitchy bum time.
